A father and son’s 40 years’ experience in the continuously evolving fashion industry led to the formation of the Steel and Jelly brand in 2004. Their brand is passionate about “embracing innovative British design by creating a hybrid of the contemporary and the traditional”.
Steel and Jelly contacted Maxipos because they wanted a durable and eco-friendly corrugated postal shipper for their e-commerce orders. The e-commerce box required was unusual due to its large size. To help define the material specification, we provided Steel and Jelly with a range of samples in varying thicknesses, styles and sizes.
After viewing the various samples of sustainable fashion packaging, Steel and Jelly chose an 0427 shipper with a closure method using hot melt glue and release paper with a perforated opening.
For the material they decided upon 150K/KE flute to make sure it was recyclable. Both the inside and outside of the shipper were flexo printed in one colour; the outside of the box with Steel and Jelly’s branding and the inside with their artwork at 85% coverage with overall machine varnish.
Our UK corrugated packaging factory produced 1,500 units of the postal shipper which has proved to be valuable to Steel & Jelly, making sure their products arrive safely to their online consumers.
