L’Occitane – Round Christmas Gift Box

Having developed a number of L’Occitane’s annual shower gel collection boxes over the years, L’Occitane set Maxipos the challenge of creating a circular rigid box with a lift off lid as luxury packaging for their 2018 Christmas promotion.

Extensive research evidenced that there was a lack of European factories able to produce circular boxes at a competitive price. So, we decided to develop the box with our Chinese factory.

Despite production in China making the lead time tight, Maxipos managed to produce 25,750 units of the custom round rigid boxes in time and also meet L’Occitane’s budget.

A 1500mic white lined greyboard with white art paper was used for the main construction of the box and lid, whilst 350gsm cardboard was used for the fitment to hold 4 x 75ml standing shower gels. Maxipos provided L’Occitane with plain samples in the correct material, size and style for their validation.

The box and lid were then printed CMYK and matt lamination applied to all components. Gold foiling was used to accentuate the star artwork on the lid, enhancing the Christmas aesthetic of the box. Maxipos provided a pre-production sample in the two artwork designs for L’Occitane’s final approval.

The round Christmas box proved to be a great success for the L’Occitane Christmas promotion.
