Philip Kingsley – Velvet Cosmetic Pouch

Philip Kingsley – the first person to introduce the concept of ‘hair textures’ into the industry and also coin the term ‘bad hair day’ – is the world’s leading trichologist and believes that ‘healthy hair is beautiful hair’.

Maxipos and Philip Kingsley have worked together since 2005 on many exciting and innovative projects.

For Christmas 2019, they required a high-end Christmas gift set pouch containing five full sized bottles of their shampoo, conditioner and hair treatments. The initial brief outlined three potential styles of the bespoke pouch that they liked and Maxipos provided samples of each version in different colours and with various branding techniques for them to review.

Ultimately, Philip Kingsley decided on a soft velvet material, that was sturdy enough to stand on its own on display in stores. The bag’s structure consisted of a deep gusset and tapered top in dark navy velvet, whilst the branding featured a silver embroidered logo on the front and a plain, metal silver zip and zip pull. A card wrap printed in CMYK with silver foiling was also produced to add to the Christmas feel of the gift set.

The 6,000 pouches and card wraps were delivered in good time with the card wraps left unglued to allow for Philip Kingsley to fill each set with the desired products before sending them out to retailers for Christmas promotions. The client was satisfied with their new high-end cosmetic packaging.
