When Maxipos launched in 2001, we thought our supply base would grow to 100's of suppliers around the world who would service the needs of our clients.
However, the more we visited factories and completed work with our clients, the more rigid and demanding we became when seeking new suppliers. We
discovered that there were a lot of companies who just specialised in one offering (for example price, quality or reliability) often at the expense
of other important qualities. We made it a golden rule that we would not join forces with new factories unless they met our high expectations in all
areas. Although this made our search for new suppliers more difficult, it has meant that our supply base has become increasingly strong & reliable
over the years.
The majority of our suppliers are trade manufacturers whose cost structures are lower than a lot of client-facing suppliers; this allows us
to be price competitive.
We also make sure we have strong relationships with the senior management; this helps our projects to have a high priority resulting in
better lead times, prices and service levels.
As we have a select number of suppliers for each product area, we are able to bring each supplier a high level of business and this
cements our relationships with them.
Although we are always looking for new companies to partner with, we are extremely confident that our current supply base
provides excellent quality and reliability at competitive prices.
